Has scratches and scuffs from age and use. Wear on the keyboard keys. Two corners on case cracked and exposed. Please see photographs.
MX Linux installed. Power adapter not included. Battery was not tested.
Functions TestedWe were able to boot this unit into a live Linux session and test some functionality which is listed below. If a functionality is not listed, please assume that functionality was not tested.
- CPU: These are put through Linux-based stress-testing for 15 minutes and, at the time of testing, CPU temperatures must not exceed manufacturer specified acceptable range. If the temperature is not available, it is only stress-tested to make sure the unit does not shut off within the test.
- BIOS: Free of passwords.
- Screen: Checked for dead/stuck pixels, blemishes, and overall functionality.
- Hard Drive: Erased using procedures documented in NIST-800-88 Guidelines for Media Sanitization. The drive is checked for any flagged SMART attributes. If any attributes are flagged, the hard drive is replaced with a healthy one.
- VGA Out: This is tested using an external monitor.
- Speakers: Checked to make sure sound comes through.
- Audio out port: Checked to make sure sound comes through.
- Microphone in port: Checked to make sure audio records using Audacity.
- USB ports: Plugged in a USB mouse into each port to make sure they power and respond correctly.
- Mouse Pad/Buttons: These are used to navigate and by way are tested.
- Ethernet Port: Connected to our network and websites are pinged.
- Keyboard: Every key was tested for responsiveness using Linux\'s ShowKey program. While this tested the responsiveness of special function keys, this did not test those keys\' ability to perform their function.
- Optical Drive: A music CD was inserted to make sure it could read and play.
