Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2 3.7GHz SR1AR Ivy Bridge-EP CPU:

For sale one Intel Xeon E5-1620 v2 @ 3.7GHz
This CPU was missing 2 of the gold contacts on the bottom of the CPU.I personally repaired this CPU back to working condition by adding a conductive carbon adhesive bridging the connection once again from the CPU\'s internal wiring to the outer contacts allowing the CPU to make full connection with the motherboard\'s socket pins. (See attached photos - the black spots on the CPU are the conductive adhesive. It\'s called \"Wire Glue\")It has been tested and left running 24/7 for about a week doing various tasks (Movies Games Music Web Browsing YouTube etc including repeated Unigine 3D benchmark programs run in loop to stress check) all without error no crashes or blue screens.
Detailed analysis:This CPU POSTS & boots on an ASUS P9X79 WS (Which the testing was done on) it did run fine and stood up to stress testing & benchmarks without locking rebooting or blue screens.-I did however notice a few minor glitches that may or may not be related to the CPU itself (Which are so minor most people would not even notice). What I noticed was during playback of 1080p movies (not YuoTube) now and then a very subtle frame \"jerk\" or \"skip\" would occur it was so subtle I can\'t quite tell which it is but the audio & picture remain in sync. This could be due to the CPU or a conflicting device ----> but it seemed more likely related to disk usage (When the HDD was accessing it would cause a slight stutter) - I just installed a 4TB hard drive and I had no other open SATA 6 ports so I had to install it on the RAID controller as a single drive. Needless to say it was acting a bit odd at first even on my original CPU (Even causing explorer to crash during copying or pasting). So the issue is more than likely related to that - but I felt I needed to be clear on this - that I did notice an issue but I don\'t have the time to fiddle around with something like that to find out the source of the problem when it\'s not my main CPU as I have a much higher end Xeon. The other minor issue is when rebooting it often powers off as if it\'s not sure what to POST the CPU as (Simple fix is just press the power button and it boots and works fine)The only other issue I noticed is that I also have an MSI X79A-GD65 (8D) which when attempting to boot on this board the board powers up lights come on fans spin the CPU begins to warm up indicating it\'s working but then it powers off an attempts to reboot again repeating the same thing over and over. My assumption is that it is unsure of what the CPU ID is so it doesn\'t actually post.
So because of these very minor issues I have marked the price accordingly. It is being SOLD AS IS. But as I said it DOES work and run without fail 24/7 on the ASUS P9X79 WS motherboard. So this is a great deal for someone with an ASUS X79 series board as it works - or for someone on a budget and or someone looking for a server CPU.Great preforming CPU for the price!
