This sale is for a metal case for the Altair 8800 series computers. I purchased this in the 1990\'s, and it was sold as working for the 8800/8800A as well as the 8800B due to the cutouts on the front metal panel.I held an 8800 front panel graphics overlay, up to it and it looks like the holes line up fine.I\'m also selling the 8800B D/C control panel on another sale. Without taking the front panel plate off of the case so it could be inserted, it looks like it will fit also.No guarantees, but I think it should work as was stated when I bought it.There are two screws that hold the top of the case on, located in the back. The top is removed by lifting the back up, while pulling the it away from the front panel, after having removed the screws.There should be 4 screws holding the case bottom to the chassis. Three of these are missing. The one screw that remains (see last picture) is stripped and does not come out.I currently have an sale for the Control Panel with switches and LED\'s, as well as an 18 slot Mother Board. So see that sale if you are interested.With the exception of the bare spot on the underside and the area around the stripped screw, the Condition of the case is almost perfect.
