As a certified Apple Consultant, I occasionally sell gently used equipment. This is an extremely clean condition 17-inch MacBook Pro from a smoke-free home. It includes the original Apple charger as shown in the photo (no extension cable). They discontinued this model in 2011 and it is still popular as it features the largest MacBook Pro screen offered at 17\". Apple no longer makes produces a laptop this size. This model also features the internal DVD drive, Firewire 800, and ethernet as well as other standard ports (unlike the new models that require adapter dongles and an external DVD drive).
The battery shows normal condition and has had roughly 31 out of the normal 1000 charge cycles.
This MacBook Pro has a fast solid state drive, the OWC Mercury Electra 6G 480GB SSD. These drives feature internal TRIM management and are highly rated. Unlike a conventional spinning hard drive, these SSD drives can immediately access data instead of having to slowly locate the data location with the data read arm. All current laptops being produced by Apple feature this same solid state data storage technology.
Additionally, I\'ve left the previously installed and left-over licensed Microsoft Office 2011 that is still usable with the High Sierra operating system.
Lastly, It has the High Sierra operating system installed (the current Macintosh operating system).
