Here is an obscure upgrade for a Macintosh LC or LC II system: The Novy Systems QuickMath LC, revision 1.2. It consists of a 20 MHz PGA Motorola 68882 Floating Point Unit in a socket on a small circuit board which connects to the PDS slot. There is one jumper and a an empty 14-pin DIP socket. Every picture I\'ve seen of these has an empty socket and the jumper in the same position as this one. However, The Novy LC-FPU revision 1.1 had neither the jumper nor the socket included. Later revisions used a 68882 in a LCC socket instead of PGA socket.I just pulled this example from an LC II motherboard. That motherboard had space for a floating point unit, but no socket.
