Original Apple II (not plus not IIe) Integer ROMs - S/N 6311 Rev 1 Motherboard:
$1500.00

Original Apple II (Not II Plus Not IIe) Rev 1 Motherboard 6298 • Integer ROMs • Programmer\'s Aid #1 • Raised Power Light Keyboard Serial# A2S1-6311This machine has been relisted at the original sale winners request to cancel, so the machine is still available (it\'s not a duplicate listing!)
The case is in excellent condition with some tiny paint chipping on the top right hand side, by the \'Return\' key (see pictures!!) and some cracks in the Power light keycap (typical of people trying to hit the power light to turn on the computer!) The base pan has a few scratches. Everything is in excellent cosmetic and working condition.
The computer is PACKED UP AND READY TO GO! Of the machines I have sold to date you can see (if you looked at my sales) that I do NOT just throw crap in a box as is and ship it. Everything is tested, cleaned, replaced if I can replace it and assembled, stocked, packed and shipped as if I am buying it. Many of these machines were mine, ran my BBS and AE lines in the past, were used at home and work, etc. Others that I have acquired are treated the same! Now, enough of the rambling, time for the details! This sale includes the following items only:
1) Original Apple II CPU - S/N 6311 (CPU and all installed components including keyboard are 100% working - guaranteed)2) Power Cord3) Working Sup R Mod installed inside case.
4) *** Please at least read the Red & Blue writing below, it describes in detail EXACTLY what I did to restore this machine. The board is a Revision 1 motherboard (see photos) 6298. There are no date codes on motherboards this early, they were sequentially numbered. It is ridiculously rare to find a board number and serial number that match exactly since rejected boards were thrown away or repurposed for parts or fixed and reused in later machines. The original power supply was replaced, so I installed the correct model power supply (A2M001) with as close a serial number to the range that would be expected of this machine (like the motherboards, they would not match exactly since all the components were not manufactured and installed in sequence) Unlike some other early serial number machines you see for sale, like the 64xx machine that just sold that I almost bought for the parts!!!, this machine has the original motherboard (a machine with a serial number of 6311 is only a few hundred above the last of the Rev 0 machines made, so it should have a Rev 1 or extremely early Rev 2 board in it, unlike the Rev 4 board with a 1979 datecode that recently sold inside the 64xx machine)
Every chip on the board is date correct 7819 or earlier except the ROMs and two rows of RAM. This machine had 16k of Mostek RAM dated 7815, and had replacement ROMs in it. Since no other chips on the board were dated past that point (and there is no datecode on the motherboard since it is too early a board for datecodes) it is safe to assume the computer was assembled sometime shortly after the 19th week of 1978. I had two additional banks of the exact same gold pinned Mostek RAM, all dated 1978 but later in the year. Bank 2 is dated 7832 and bank 3 is dated 7839. Figured they matched, look great in the machine and were added after the fact! I did not have Integer ROMs with datecodes that early but they are all still from 1978, even the Programmer\'s Aid #1 if you care about such things. It wasn\'t necessary to make the machine 100% original, but it was fun trying to do so!!The keyboard has been cleaned and tested, all keys work. The PSU works, but the switch is starting to get mushy. Force is needed when turning it on to make it actually turn on!! Typically some DeOxit into the switch would fix this kind of problem but I chose not to do so.The motherboard had a brief surface cleaning while the chips were removed. I did NOT wash the board so the S/N would not wear off. Normally the handwritten date codes hold up much better than the stamped ones, but I did not want to take any chances. I cleaned some staining off the board with 99% IPA and cleaned the entire board including compressed air, but if you wish to remove the chips and wash the board it would sparkle when you are done! The original foam around the speaker has deteriorated and I chose not to replace it.**There is NO MONITOR included in this sale. Anything in any photo other that what is listed above was used for testing purposes ONLY**
(like my workbench.......it\'s NOT included!! ;-)I know it works going into the box, I want to make sure it will work for you coming out of the box.Everything was tested working when packed. I am confident it will work for you, hence the 2 week guarantee. I guarantee EVERYTHING I sell. No BS about \"it\'s old, it\'s vintage electronics, Not tested as-is (unless it\'s a sealed in box item!)\" etc. If it doesn\'t work you\'ll know it before offerding. If it works, I guarantee it will work when you get it.If an item is untested it will be clearly marked as such and no returns will be accepted.Payment must be received within 3 days of sale end or you will be considered a non-paying customer and the item will be re-listed. My computers and equipment are ready to go right out of the box, no cleaning or repairs required unless it is an untested item, which would be clearly marked as such!Local pickup is available upon request (located at the Jersey Shore in NJ, USA) and other shipping can be arranged upon request (rates will be higher than listed if other shipping services are requested....if you are the winning buyer and wish to arrange for different shipping contact me and wait for a revised invoice before paying). CaptTB68I have a LOT of items both Apple II and Compact Mac waiting to be listed.
