It is currently configured in a 6TB RAID 5 format , ready to plug in . It can be reconfigured to any other RAID level with the Promise utility (available online). In this configuration RAID 5 is as fast or faster than an SSD - I was absolutely astounded at how FAST this drive is. Using a disk speed utility this drive was 18% faster than my Mac Pro SSD.
