Rare Commodore Amiga 2000 Early serial 000869 Computer only NEW Gold CPU Socket:
$299.00

One day sale only for $299.99
For sale is a BareBones Commodore Amiga 2000 computer only! No monitor, no mouse, no keyboard, no cables, no floppy drive, no floppy drive emulator is included, and no software included! The case is a early serial which is cool!!! #000869!!! However, the motherboard is a revision 4.1 (not sure if it is original to the computer since I\'m not the original owner of this Amiga). It is a ROM 2.0 Amiga.
What is amazing about this computer is that it has never worked since I had purchased it long ago due to the infamous battery corroding the CPU socket. I finally just replaced the socket with a higher end gold plated socket. This was a tedious and long task and in the end, I was proud of my work! (I didn\'t lift one solder pad or break a trace!) To my surprise it works and works well! The keyboard port work as well as the mouse and joystick. Sound output works well. Video output is great for both composite and RGB. In the pictures I used a mini TV for the picture since I didn\'t want to drag out my RGB monitor again. The composite port outputs monochrome which is normal.
No floppy drive is included and was long missing. I tested the computer with my USB to Floppy emulator and the computer ran all my games and programs well! I highly recommend getting a USB flash drive to Floppy emulator for this Amiga. They are pretty cheap for the Amiga computers!
I have un-soldered the original battery and got rid of it for good! I actually have a special CR2032 battery holder made for the Commodore Amiga with a built-in diode that will prevent from charging the CR2032 battery. This will arrive this coming Monday and will be installed before being shipped out.
Overall the computer is in good shape. The case is solid! It is missing a support beam inside the case which is just a rod (not a big deal). No interface cards are included. The computer board does have some discoloration around where the battery had leaked which is typical. There are also some case screws missing. I will try to get some at a hardware store. Also the only major thing is that the port that is usually used for expensive cpu accelerator cards has blue crystallization from the battery as can be seen in the pictures. I\'m sure you can still use the port if you use some fine grit sandpaper/abrasives.
Overall, this Amiga has been gone through and repaired and works great! This is a great Amiga to start out with! There is a lot of new hardware you can purchase for this computer which is outstanding! It should last for many more years to come!
This computer will be packed with care and insured!
