I own one of these already and my current one kept disconnecting, so thought there was a short in the power or usb plug. I bought this new one to replace it, but it turned out it was actually bad usb port on the computer. I am keeping my original drive and selling the new one. I would have just returned it, but I bought it about 6 months ago before I got around to opening the box and trying to install it.This drive has been opened, but never used.
