An awesome classic here. This is a custom built desktop computer with high quality parts. The end result, a fast system capable of playing a wide range of old games, including many TRUE DOS mode games!!! Also has already been configured with a handy menu for DOS mode to help load various memory modes & CD / Mouse drivers automatically.The case is a really good size, very spacious, sturdy & in great condition. Heavy duty metal construction Mid/Standard size tower. Lots of expansion potential, easy to service and has plenty enough room for the ATX Gateway 440BX motherboard. Impressive, very high quality machine. Easy removeable side panels & one screw holds top plate on for easier access to power supply & optical as well. Very easy case to work with. There is a little bit of surface rust here and there on it but its really only visible much on the inside bottom and mainly on the underside bottom where no one would really ever see it, again this does not affect the actual function of the computer at all, just noting.The Gateway and Dell 440BX systems of old are known for their excellent build quality and longevity. This 440BX board is no exception, big high quality capacitors and no signs of bulging. Wouldn\'t be surprised a bit if it ran for another 10-20 years. Power supply is the original from Dell XPS. All capacitors including inside the power supply checked and are 100% good. All fans running good and main CPU socket/heatsink is modified. Heatsink is extra large passive type that doesn\'t need a fan but I added an extra 80mm fan anyway for extremely good cooling by gluing to the heatsink and splicing in power.It is in great condition overall, everything cleaned and tested thoroughly to be working. Windows 98SE installed. Drivers used are on 2nd partition. Universal USB drivers also included. (can use most flash drives & some other devices, very nice to have.) Intel Pentium II processor running at 400 Mhz. Also has 2x back USB on motherboard along with 1x serial, parallel, 2x PS2 (for mouse and keyboard), video & audio connections.Optical drive is a very good old Mitsumi model. Also disassembled and cleaned, reads even burned cds well. (Which not all very old drives do.) Eject works very good still as well. Floppy works great. Had zero problems. Tested to format, boot, etc. It has been disassembled & cleaned. Due to unstable nature of floppies & floppy disks however, I cannot also guarantee it will work flawlessly for you. As you can see in the pictures though, this is one of the floppy drives with a large head unit, these drives from my experience are very good and tend to read disks that others cannot sometimes. This setup with the ISA Soundblaster card along with Windows 98 SE has a ton of potential for playing a wide variety of older games right from within Windows 98 or from DOS mode with a helpful menu for various memory modes and DOS sound drivers already installed as well.This setup also takes advantage of the best of both worlds by having a larger hard drive than you would normally get with a system capable of playing actual DOS games with sound. It doesn\'t get much better than this. It can\'t play everything, but it can play A LOT without having to do much.
