An early model of the NEC PC-8201--has both English and Japanese Katakana keyboards. The later version, the NEC 8201A had only the standard English keyboard.
I purchased this at an Estate Sale of a retired engineer. He had quite a big collection of PCs and Apple/MAC early computers from the 1980s and early 1990s and kept them all in immaculate condition.
In Excellent cosmetic condition. Comes with its Original NEC plastic case.
The AC Adapter/Power Cord is NOT included.
All the photos posted here are from the actual item on sale.
I placed fresh batteries inside the \"Battery Cassette\" and it powers On and the screen works fine--please see photo with a capture of the screen with the Microsoft 1 on it.
I used the cursor keys to move the cursor and it works fine. However, I have neither the technical knowledge nor the expertise and equipment to test this computer further. Based on its external condition, I am selling it under the assumption that it works fine. If the Buyer encounters any problems or is not 100% satisfied with the item, please note that I have a 30-Day,100% Full Refund Return Policy that includes the return shipping costs as well.
Free shipping within the U.S.
Please note: I currently also sale (starting on Saturday 11/25 at 6:00 PM), here on , a Kyotronic 85 by Kyocera, considered to be the world\'s first portable computer. NEC licensed the design of the Kyotronic 85 and produced the PC-8201. Identical models with few, rather minor, changes/enhancements made by NEC
