Vintage 1984 Apple //c, Apple\'s first \"portable\" computer:
$50.00

The Apple //c represents an important moment in Apple history.
Almost all of the company\'s profits were coming from the five year old Apple II+ computer. Steve Jobs knew the future of Apple was the Lisa and Macintosh computers, and he started and us-versus-them situation between the team working on the Mac and the team improving the profit-making Apple II run by Steve Wozniak. He famously hung a pirate flag in the Mac division, as a declaration of war.
Of course, we all know what happened in 1984. Woz\'s Apple //c came out to good reviews (and average sales) while the $10,000 Lisa had tanked the year before and the Mac came out to tepid sales.Jobs was fired by the CEO he had hired and Woz lessened his activity at Apple.
Of course, Jobs made a triumphant return to Apple when the company was financially crushed. He secured some investment from Microsoft and introduced artistic design changes to the Mac and went on to be Steve-freaking-Jobs.
This computer (and the Macintosh 128) represent the fissure Jobs created at Apple that almost destroyed the company and sent him to exile for a couple years.
I put the word \"portable\" in the product description because - despite the need for a separate monitor - Apple marketed the //c as a portable computer. For what it is worth, it\'s serial number isF642479A254100.
