Vintage Collectible U80701 ceramic CPU DEC MicroVAX 78032 clone, NOS, prototype :
Rare CollectibleU80701CPU, NOS in original package. Probably prototype.
U80701 is exact DEC MicroVAX 78032 (otherwise known as the DC333) microprocessor clone.
Made by MME (Mikroelektronik "Karl Marx" Erfurt), German Democratic Republic, in the late eighties to be used inRobotron K1820 minicomputer ( MicroVAXll clone).
Very small amount (hundreds) of U80701 were manufactured because of the Berlin Wall fall. And AFAIK Robotron K1820 was never made.
Russians also tried in vain to copy MicroVAX 78032 CPU (named 1807BM3 but never seen)However they cloned DEC 78132 FPU - 1807BM4 (I have this one in my collection) So they used German U80701 CPUs and own 1807BM4 FPUs to clone MicroVAX-II computer (named CM 1702)
Presumably all the 80701s went to Russia in 1989.And I was lucky to find some of them at local old stock store in Kiev, Ukraine in 2009.(Current item location is Canada)
One of these chips had missing pins (all others were perfect) so I opened it to get die's image (left - original DEC 78032, right - German U80701).
The buyer will receive exactly what you see: NOS U80701 CPU in original package. Will be packed and shipped carefully.
