This lot is for a PII system straight out of 1999 - literally. Every component is from the correct era and of quite good quality. It survives almost in its entirety as built in late 1999. It served as a gaming computer for about a year, but alas I have to clear my stock for new projects. It\'s with mixed feelings that I list this computer. The original 10 gig hard disk was noisy and was replaced with a quiet, barely used Fujitsu 8.4Gb MPE3084AE drive of the correct time period (Dec 1999). There are no bad sectors. Currently, the boot partition (98SE) is 2Gb with the remaining 6.5Gb on D:\\. Additionally, the original CDROM exhibited tray issues so I installed a Pioneer DVD 105SZ slot loader - This is the newest component, from March 2001. The Samsung CD burner is an SCW-230 CD-R CD-RW with a 1Mb buffer - It reads discs perfectly, but I have not tested it for burning. Nevertheless it comes with 3x NIB Fujitsu CD-Rs. Floppy drive works fine, I loaded the LAN drivers from it (original diskette) and booted the 98SE boot disk. Comes with OEM certificate and original CDROM of Windows 98. The CPU fan cooler was noisy so I replaced it with a heftier one from a P3. The processor is original, mated to a BX440 Intel chipset (Jan 1999) Shuttle (Holco) HOT-661 motherboard. BIOS battery was just replaced. Originally, it came with 128Mb PC100 memory, to which I added another 128Mb, for a total of 256Mb. I\'m throwing in an ASUS S370 slot adapter with a Celeron 400 MHz CPU on board, as well as a PIII 800 MHz CPU (The board will support up to 733, so this will have to be underclocked). Both CPUs worked when removed from other projects but were not explicitly tested in this machine. The monitor is an eMachines branded 17inch Multi-Scan color monitor (July 1999) and is very crisp, tested up to 1280x1024 in 32 bit mode. Currently it is configured to run at 1024x768, which produces a sharp picture. OSD is fully adjustable. Monitor top shows slight signs of yellowing. No damaged components. It comes with the ORIGINAL BOX and packing material, which is the only reason I\'m willing to ship it. Make no mistake, it is quite heavy. I will increase the padding during shipment, but the shipping for the monitor will have to incur separate charges. Keyboard and mouse are a tidy, era correct Microsoft set. Both devices are PS/2, clean, and work very well. Sound comes via a Soundblaster LIVE! CT4670 connected to a PCI port. Both optical audio drive headers connect to the card. This card came with the computer originally. The video is handled by Creative 3D Blaster Banshee, an AGP video board. It features 3Dfx acceleration and 16Mb RAM onboard. This card came with the computer originally. There is a LAN card (DFE I think) which works - I connected through my LAN with this card. There\'s also some kind of GVC modem, possibly V.90 or V.92. I could not test this card. This card came with the computer originally.There\'s a bunch of software titles that come with it, I\'ll list them in an edit - 6 Star Wars titles (Tie Fighter), Encarta 2000, some period correct NAV software, Roxio CD Creator, etc
The case is in 9/10 condition with minor corrosion at the bottom of the drive bay covers (visible in picture). Case plastics show no signs of yellowing. It has been cleaned up inside and out. The specifications/inventory list:-Intel Pentium II 350 MHz CPU
