Hardware:This small form factor Dell Optiplex 780 has an Intel Core 2 Duo E7500 running at 2.93GHz and paired with 4GB of DDR3 RAM. Graphics are integrated. Storage is provided by a 250GB Western Digital hard drive. You get lots of useful ports, including 8 USB 2.0 ports, eSATA, a serial port, a parallel port, an ethernet jack, multiple headphone/microphone jacks (and line in), DisplayPort, and VGA. There is also a DVD drive. The tower weighs 15 pounds and can be laid either horizontally or vertically on its rubber feet.
The ethernet jack is the only networking feature on this computer; if you need Wi-Fi, a USB receiver would work. There is also a free PCI lane inside the computer that would allow the installation of a low-profile Wi-Fi card or any other low-profile card, such as a discrete GPU. Also included with your purchase are a power cord, a Logitech K120 keyboard (used), mousepad (used) and a standard mouse (new, but in an open box). Condition:
Aside from some cosmetic scratches and blemishes, this Optiplex is in good condition and is clean. All of the rubber feet are intact and in good condition. The keyboard was only lightly used, and is also in good clean condition. OS and Performance:
The computer has Windows 10 Pro 64-bit installed. It\'s not a hot rod, but is fine with basic tasks like document editing, web browsing, and email. Video streaming on YouTube defaults to 720p and runs with minimal hitching. This would also be a great buy if you need some of the legacy ports on offer here. When plugged in, the computer will run a quick self-test and crank up the fans - this is just an initial behavior and the computer is quite quiet during normal operation.
