Very RARE, UNUSED original 1984 AppleModel# M0130 400K capacity external floppy disk drive for thefirst Model M0001 Macintosh 128K computer in the ORIGINAL BOX and packaging! Increasingly rare now to find in the original matching # retail box now 34 years later, and unheard of to find one now that was never used! This was an Apple employee purchase as indicated on the original shipping label on the box as shown, and was kept new and unused in the box by the original owner for 30+ years! It has only been removed from box and unpackaged now to inspect and test to ensure functionality before offering for sale. Drive is in as new condition, perfect fresh from retail box condition!
Disk drive is absolutely mint inside the box, like going back to 1984 and buying brand new! This is the only one of these early original Mac drives I have ever seen in this unused condition, incredibly rare and a great early Macintosh collector\'s item. There is absolutely no discoloration or yellowing, or any markings, as it has always been in the box and packaging since new as it came from Apple! Includes all original parts- the Apple retail box, disk drive, white styrofoam packaging with Apple logos, clear drive cover, connector cover, yellow tape pieces, and original drive insert sheet as shown.
This is the nicest you will ever find now of this original 1984 Mac external disk drive model. When I acquired this drive from the original owner it was all unopened inside, the original yellow tape holding the plastic covers on the drive and drive connector had dried up though from time so were not still holding the plastic covers fully sealed. I decided to remove drive from the clear covers to inspect the drive and test for proper operation prior to listing for sale to see if any servicing was needed. After only a few insert/eject cycles to get it moving with a disk while connected to a Mac, the drive worked perfectly! Disks insert and eject with ease, and the drive immediately reads known good original Mac disks. I chose not to open up the drive as there is no reason unlike most old used ones of this same model, this one does not need any servicing, and to preserve the originality of this rare unused drive.
Box is nice and solid, no writing,just the old tape on it. Serial # on the box matches the serial # on the drive as shown. This drive is ready to collect and display, or to use as a reliable working external drive for you early Mac 128K or 512K system!

An external drive is perfect for making backup copies of your original disks, and to have in case your Mac\'s internal disk drive should ever fail since the early Macs are of course completely floppy disk based, no hard drive. Also, some later programs that came on multiple disks require two drives just to use. Add this unused 400K Apple drive to your early Mac to make a complete collector system!
