Creating Vivid Sky
This tutorial will show you how to change a regular sky to a vivid sky.



Step 1:

Lets take this dreary Mexico vacation spot.

 

Step 2:

Choose Blue for a foreground in this picture.  In this case I chose 2E538D.

 


Step 3:

Next choose the gradient tool and pick foreground to transparent.

 


Step 4:

Apply a vertical gradient with darker color coming from the top of the photo.  Then change the layer blending to Color dodge.

 


Step 5:

Then with your new layer selected choose Image/Adjustments/Color Balance.  Make your settings similar to what I have below.

 


Step 6:

Your final product should look something like this.
